i think david's actually coming down from a nitrous oxide high, not pain killers. trust me, i know my drugs.
"Nitrous oxide has been used for anesthesia in dentistry since the 1840s. The most common use is as a 50:50 mix with oxygen, commonly known as Entonox or Nitronox delivered through a demand valve, and frequently used to relieve pain associated with childbirth, trauma and heart attacks."
it kills pain.
it is, therefore, a pain killer.
you are correct sir. i guess i tend to think of "pain killers" as pills for treating post-op pain, i.e. vicodin, percocet, whereas nitrous and novocaine are anesthetics that prevent perioperative pain. but pain is pain, and killing is killing, i suppose. you win this round fry!
